It has been a very long 10 days. Kevin has traveled constantly both for work, and recreation, leaving the five of us to learn how to do this with the help of great volunteers.
Aunt Jess and Riley came to see us for a few days while Kevin, Jim, Gabe, and Brian braved the Grand Canyon. We had a really nice time, and the boys loved being reunited. I don't think Ian has ever clocked so many Gamecube hours.
After Dad returned from the big hole, he had a 12 hour turnaround on a trip to Minneapolis for work. Grandma Helen came up, and helped hold down the fort so Ian could go to his swim practices, and his soccer game. It was such a nice week, and we even picked the fabric for the baby quilt.
Finally though, Kevin is back where he should be. I have realized that even though I spend the majority of time alone with the kids now, we depend on him for so much. It has been really great to have Dad home for the kids up in the night, and early morning cuddles, and doughnut runs. We went as a family to Ian's school carnival, not an easy feat with a huge crowd, and three very busy toddlers. Fun was had by all, and it was Daddy's endless playground energy that kept us there for a full hour.

Isn't it amazing how much easier it can be with an extra set of hands? I bet that was a long 10 days. Is it your turn for a 10 day vacation now?? HA--I know how that goes! Mom's don't ever get to take vacations!
Hopefully you are getting at least SOME rest while you are working on baby #5!
