This week flew by. Ian had Monday off school, providing a perfect Mom and me date lunch opportunity.
Tuesday we went to open house at his school. It is always a funny thing to take 5 kids into an event like this, as people cannot help but see us as one of the exhibits. ( although I think they are getting a little used to us over there)
Wednesday night was Mom's night out with the triplet group, and Friday we co-hosted a party for some dear friends who are moving away in March. It was a great party, although somewhat emotional, as they are the people I would least like to see move out of my daily life at the moment.
With swim season over, it was no less hectic around here giving me fear that we will always find one too many events to fill the space. Home maintenance has been the theme of the weekend. Kevin has completely dismantled the downstairs bathroom, as the tile will be installed in three rooms (including that one) on Thursday. As with any project he removed the sink to find the plumbing above the floor, throwing a kink in the sink style we had chosen for the replacement. We now need to rip up the vinyl floor in the laundry room, paint, and at the midnight hour remove the washer/dryer from the space before tile day. At some point later this week we will be getting a new dishwasher delivered and installed, hopefully bringing us up to date in the world of efficient, larger dishwashers that have been made since 1994 when our current one was put in. After 3 years of noise and rattle, (since we've lived here) the old girl finally crashed and burned on Thursday making me the sole outlet for clean dishes in this house. (paper plates it is).
Pictures later this week to show all of our DIY efforts. Let's just hope the "DIY to the Rescue" people need not visit in the process.
