Ian finally got to have his birthday party. It was a massive undertaking to put on a real survivor party to entertain 29 kids at our house. He invited the whole class plus a few extras, and I am the mom thinking that about 1/2 would show. Oh-no there were all but 4 of the kids in his 3rd grade class at the party. It was truly a blast, but one that I would not want to do again next week. Kevin went all out, and built an obstacle course, giant puzzles, props, catapults, and even designed an 11 foot pole assembly challenge. our yard was a sight proven by all of the strangers who stopped to stare.
We began by face painting, designing team flags, and drawing buffs for teams. The kids really got into the spirit of things. Only one kid accidentally used the fabric markers, and sharpies for the flags on his face, the rest managed to stick to the face crayons. I didn't get a phone call from that mom, so either she knew how to get permanent marker off a face, or has decided to let it wear off in time....
My friend Mishelle made the cake, it was perfect-- tasty too!!
4 grandparents made the little ones a sidenote, not a feature distraction of the party, for that we were really thankful.

It looked like a blast, and i'm sure Ian and his friends had a ball....but I must say, if ever there is an award for PARENTS OF THE CENTURY, you guys get my vote a million times over!
