67 days until School starts!
Yeah- they are cute, BUT.....
This 24/7 parenting is not easy for a couple reasons.
1. The fighting (that's obvious) I have to do a lot more choosing sides. It is weird picking which of the kids is more right.
2. The mess. They are messy little boogers, but they are also learning to clean, and getting a lot more willing. Plus I have all school year to whip this house into shape.
3.The pressure to provide great opportunity, and good snacks. Whew-- I really get to feeling guilty when I notice the TV has been on too much, or that we have not done math facts/reading practice in days. While there is a lot of time, there never seems to be enough time...
4. Finally there is...
Hadley. She is out of sorts A LOT! She is not sure what to do with all this sibling time. To prove the point, she calls herself, and the demands everyone else to call her, Princess Little Bittle.
All in all, the summer is going great. They are having a ball in the pool. All five of them are making lots of friends. We finally snagged 2 more big bikes at a garage sale, making everyone happy on that front, and days fly by. Evenings are filled withn neighbors, fireflies, and movies past bedtime. I am sure before I know it, I will turn around, and find that it is time for school supplies!
