Preparing to be Thankful

Thanksgiving is around the corner. I am spending the next 2 days getting ready for my company, and thinking about what to cook for my portion of the meal. I got bread/stuffing, so if anyone has a GREAT recipe....

Truth be told, I think Thanksgiving might be one of the most enjoyable holidays for me. There is so little pressure. No travel (thanks to those of you who come here) means no packing, no cleaning the car, and no cranky kids who sleep better at home. Sharing of the meal ( we ask that everyone participate in a draw to see who makes what for the meal) It is always fun, and interesting to see what the final product looks like. No gift buying (I love shopping, but it is nice to have a holiday that takes no prior preparation) means that I can focus more on the house ect. Just a laid back day with the family/friends that want to be a part of things.

The Turkey Trot is 3 days a way. My new goal is to finish with no medical intervention. I was previously planning to beat my last time, but since the last time I even took a walk was about a month ago, I think 3.1 miles just warrants a finish--any finish....

So I am preparing to be thankful for the following:
My house being presentable enough for company.
My part of the meal being not burned.
Finishing the race.
My husband being employed so I can shop on Friday.
My kids enjoying a relaxed holiday tradition with family and a lot of laughs.
