2011 what's on the docket

I have read 40 books this year. So I guess there is some free time in there after all. OR well, choice time. Time when I should be doing something else, but I decided to read. Life is short, so, I guess I am ok with reading something great in lieu of one more load of laundry.

2011 needs to be a successful year, and from what I read, the best way to do that is to set goals. HMMM manageable goals you say?.... Like being organized enough to find the paper I wrote the goals on? That might be a great start. Methinks a trip to the container store is in order.

That, of course, blows out goal #2 spend less money. But you can't move on to #2 until #1 is accomplished.

#3 self-care. I need to finish this weight loss thing. I said goodbye to 20lbs in 2010, and need to say good-bye to 27 more in 2011. Bring on the Jenny.

#4 Manage the homework better. I am creating an area for nothing but homework. I need to get the kids on a tighter schedule to get through the nightly grind. Trust me--easier said than done.

#5 Cook more. I cannot go all crazy on the organics, we simply cannot afford it. However I can limit the mac and cheese nights in any given week. I made chicken and dumplings last night and all 5 kids ate it. That is big.

365 days to figure things out, and I have yet to fail in 2011. I love new years.
