Weekend Update

It was another busy weekend, which can be expected when you are the old woman who lived in a shoe...

Ian had a swim meet Saturday and Sunday. He had some good races, and a few time drops. Most shockingly, he took second place overall for the whole meet. We did not even realize they were scoring it that way, and as we were walking out they called his name on the intercom for a trophy. He was really excited, and added it to the collection of awards that come from participating in the world of paid sports.

The girls had their preschool Christmas program on Saturday, and I am please to report that they were all willing to stand up front the whole time. Jilly never made it all the way through a rehearsal, so this was a shock. She stood up there with a scowl, but nevertheless, she made it. I wish I could share pics of the actual program, but it was like a paparazzi frenzy of camcorders, and flashes. I was afraid to get to close for fear of a mutiny if I was spotted. Here is a picture from after, so you might see how sweet they were in their dresses. (thanks again Grandma D)

Sunday evening we all ate together at the table for the first time in a while. It was nice. Ella led us in prayer- there is nothing sweeter than a 3 yr old thanking "Baby Jesus" for her food. I am glad that they really are getting a foundation in Christian preschool, and Sunday school before turning them over to the public school tradition killers. ( Ian's school is now at war with Halloween, and Christmas has been out for a while.)

All and all the weekend flew by, but it was very pleasant.

It is so exciting to see how you have grown in your faith and are raising your children in a Christian home. I love to hear the children pray too....they don't worry about "getting the words right" or wondering if their prayer is "biblically correct". It is straight from the heart. I can just picture God on the throne with a twinkle in His eye and a smile on His face when He hears a child's prayer. I just love to see my kids pour their hearts out in worship, praising Him from the depths of their hearts with no inhibition. Wouldn't the world be a better place if everyone believed with a child-like faith and worshiped God with the heart of a young child?

Keeping focused on the Manger and that special baby Boy born on Christmas so very long ago......this season, today and always.....Heather
