10th fastest kid in the city!!

Out of all the kids who swim in Naperville ( and there are a lot) there is an elite list who make the city championship. An even smaller list make the top 10. Ian pulled off a 10th place finish in the 25 yrd backstroke this morning, after a rocky start off the wall. It is amazing considering that he would not even float on his back until a year ago.

He also dropped time in his 25 free breaking his record again. His over all finish there was 19th, I think out of about 64 kids.

Both relay teams broke the old team records ( One taking 6th over all) making him a part of two more award ceremonies at the season-end banquet. It was a good day. Hot, but good. He has come so far in 12 months of swimming. It is exciting to see him really enjoy something, and set/meet goals for himself. The nature of swimming suits him. He has made some cool new friends too.

Our next challenge is to fill the month of August with entertaining things to do. Let's hope it cools off again.
