Two nameless doctors were there to assist. I can remember - and when "I" is used in this post for the first time in hilbrant.blogspot.com history the I is not for Theresa, but today's guest blogger - Kevin.
Back to what I remember - when Ian was born 8 plus years ago after Theresa was in Labor for over 48 hours, the doctor that delivered him handed us his card and said "Here, a kid should know who his doctor was." Thanks Doc, I remember my doctor was Alstater, but I'll give the kid your card in 35 years so he will have it for his kids blog. His name was Jablowskie or Jovanowski or Janakowki. It's on a card somewhere.
Fast forward to 8/30, and when I say 8/30 I mean 8/30/03 - the day the world changed. Hassles at airports, hard to go to the post office, a change to our very way of life. Wait that day was 9/11 for most everyone else. It was 8/30 for us - you should see the lines at the airports when we showed up with the triplets that Theresa has all over this blog. But, back to the point, instead of two nameless, faceless medical superstars, there were 20 in the room for the delivery of Ella, Holly & Jilly. The CEO of the 20 person medical team was not like for Ian a polish guy, but some French lady.
Which brings us to yesterday. Don't know the doctor's name - this time I don't really even know his general ethnicity. But, I certainly appreciate what he did. He was masterful in his work, bringing little Hadley out into the open labor and delivery room air via a few intricate C section cuts. Theresa can go more into that later.
And with an announement of you can look up now, this proud Dad was able to view a very slimy, purple, perhaps somewhat alien looking little 8 pounder. A few minutes later she was less slimy. A few minutes later she was less purple. A few minutes later and she was less alien looking. Finally within about 30 minutes she was perhaps the most beautiful baby that I have ever seen. But, my head was spinning alot on 8/30 and after the 3 day marathon 8 years ago with the boy. ie - there is some amnesia that has set in.
Throughout the day, her look changed several more times. I'm sure this blog will show those changes. And as often as Theresa will eventually post new pictures here - the blogspot guys ought to look into purchasing some bigger servers.
