Don't run out and buy him a chess board--he has one. This is about creativity, not lack of resources. Ian made a chess board, and a code sheet to play with his NFL helmets. The only problem is that they are assigned their rank by who he likes the best. If you do not know who his favorite teams are, you have to refer to his code sheet, and this is a real hassle when you are playing chess. Perhaps he is really just smart enough to put the odds in his favor, and really just 10 enough to not care if the opponent thinks it is unfair?
