Hiding the scars

I am not sure which is going to be worse. Is it Ian's physical scar which the peditrician said is most likely going to require future plastic surgery? Or is it the internal scar that keeps my shoulders from relaxing every time one of the kids rides a bike, a scooter, or runs through the family room too fast.

I know that they are bound to get hurt, but I am having a hard time not laying awake thinking about him falling, if he had hit an eye instead.....
I am hating it when he plays foursquare, hits the tennis ball with the racket, or wrestles one of the girls.

His stitches took over an hour to remove. There was a lot of scabbing to work around, and they were so small and tight that they thought I was going to have to go back to the ER and have them taken out by scalpel. He did great. He kept count every time she got one out, and insisted that he was fine, and did not need a break from the proceedure.

So they are out. We have instructions to contiue the topical antibiotics, keep it clean and covered, and apply sunscreen as soon as it is done scabbing. He feels better, and I know he is ready to have people stop asking him what happened.
