7 fed, now 5 off to bed---ahhh peace and quiet

It's not all that often that I make dinner that everyone from the dad to the baby will eat, unless it is pizza. I can probably list the choices on one hand. That doesn't mean that they are all given choices, but inevitably either the kids pick at their meals, or Kevin is making himself popcorn by about 7:30 pm to fill up.

Tonight we found a new winner. Beef Kabobs from the dinner assembly place. ( it is one of those places where you go put together a bunch of meals that they have done the prep for to bring to your freezer.) They liked watching me put them together, they liked watching them grill on the sticks, and they devoured them. Onion, zucchini, red potatoes, and seasoned beef served with rice. They even scavenged each other's plates for the left behind pieces that they desired. Trades were made. Ella gave up meat for zucchini, Holly wanted more potatoes, etc. I watched in awe as they ate every last bite.

Now I get to put them to bed with full bellies in hope of a good night sleep. I also get to dream of a day when each night is not a battle of who might eat what without complaining. I think we are probably at square one again tomorrow...
