Sorry it has been a while, but I have been waiting to be in the mood I guess to blog. Tonight was Ian's football team's BIG game. The teams normally play on Saturday, but they each get one night game with the lights, pep rally, and car parade. The weather held until about 3:30 pm today. The rain came just early enough to make for typical Halloween weather around here. At 5 PM the game was on. We took the kids to dinner, then stopped for flowers that Ian swore they were supposed to bring for the cheerleaders. (he was mistaken, but that is another story), and on to the parade start. The boys were supposed to be met there by the Colts cheerleaders, where they would each give one girl a white flower (provided by the team, not the boys themselves), and the cheer team would rev them up for their night. We get there in the freezing rain, and find the cheer team has been moved to the field. The boys jump around and do what 10 yr old boys do (oooze testosterone) and loaded up the cars for their honk fest parade through the neighborhood. Oh-- and by the way--game cancelled due to weather. Oh--really-- could someone have made that decision about 2 hours ago?
We used the free time to take the kids to the school book fair. Each of them braved the crowd (nothing at the school is ever not crowded) and chose a book from their wish list. Home to read books, cuddle under the electric blanket, and an earlyish bedtime. We could all stand the extra rest.
