A Win, FINALLY

10 yr olds are all about the "W". Up until now you can tell them it's about having fun, and learning to play. Up until now they can be in leagues that don't keep score. Up until now it really doesn't matter. Now it does. Ian and team try hard every game, hit well, have a few good innings in the field, and then fall apart and get their little butts kicked. It should be, in fact, common knowledge that the other team should not panic if they are down in the 3rd, because the unravel is about to occur. It is pretty funny that kids take life seriously without a lot of pushing. Heck, maybe there is a lot of pushing at the other homes. I kind of wish they could stay little enough to not care forever.... We tell Ian there is always next time, and any other reassuring things that make it seem like it is not a big deal. The other night a series of great hits and runs gave the Cardinals a big enough lead that they were not to be caught. The boys were excited, and hope for a repeat tonight.
