We are all enjoying Labor Day. This has been one of those lazy days where we don't do anything, go anywhere, or see anyone. I love these type of days. Sometimes knowing you "have" to do something is worse than actually doing it, and it is nice to be uncommitted for a day.
Hadley has become obsessed with washing her hands. Great-- let the OCD be in the one that is not allowed to use the sink alone.... She asks to wash hands about 100 times/day, and spends about 5 minutes each time at the sink. The nice thing about 2 yr olds is they are usually on to the next compulsion pretty quickly.
Ella, Holly, and Jilly have spent the morning playing with those gifts that they have not been allowed to crack into until there was a nice, clean place to lay out all the little pieces. Thanks to a short-notice get together at our house with the neighbors last night, the house is pretty clean. As good of a time as any I guess to see what comes in a 50 piece art kit (or in this house that is a 150 pieces of art....)
Ian is alternating playing outside and harassing the crap out of his sisters. This means that we go from peace and quiet, to complete chaos off and on about every 20 minutes or so. This is a pattern that I got so used to this summer that I hardly even notice the transitions. I am secretly looking forward to another school day tomorrow.
I am trying to get as much laundry done as possible today. Kevin is a great folder, and will usually put a whole bunch away if I get it done when he is home. If I put this task off until tomorrow, I am flying solo. I hate laundry, and I doing it alone even more....
