I love the weekend, as it affords me the time and energy to devote to the kids. I don't know why, but even though I am home with them all the time, it feels like the weekdays are too crowded with the mundane to really have fun. Maybe it's just the rut that we get ourselves in as adults, following that five day week yearning for R&R. The girls are exerting their independence more and more now. They are not always content to play on the swingset, or the porch, they want the freedom to explore. They watch Ian in the driveway, and they know that big kids, get to play out front. Today we took them for an adventure on their big wheels. Ian likes to show off on his roller blades, so having us invade his space isn't too bad. The girls are getting closer to peddling, but they prefer to push with their feet, or even get off all together, and push like a cart.

Theresa - I've really enjoyed reading your blog - you are a wonderful writer and can find such joy in the every day life as a mom. It's a good reminder to me to appreciate those things. The big wheel picture is great - boy big wheels sure have changed since I last saw them - they are way cool now! Congrats too to you and Kevin on the pregnancy - I'll be praying it all goes well!
