Mom- why is it so Dark?

This is the question I got this morning when I brought the kids downstairs. It is cold, and raining, and did I mention COLD!!! We left a window open last night, and it is beyond bearable this morning. If I was any more spoiled/selfish the kids and I would be in a hotel until the house warms up. I'll write more later when I am less grouchy.
