Consistency

Who is the midget?

For the third straight season Ian took 3rd place in the Maverick Pentathalon today. It is a competition where each swimmer swims the same 5 events, and is scored by adding all of their times together. The lowest time wins, next lowest is second, and so on....

Ian did not swim even near to his best in anything, but aparently too much snow play affected the swimmers, because it was really a competition to see who didn't swim worst. He was also helped by a DQ of another swimmer that spells death to anyone in the running. To a nine year old a trophy is a trophy, and he didn't steal or cheat to get it, so it is all good. He was shocked when they called his name, and already had his coat and hat on, as well as his bag packed. This was due to the fact that his mom had told him that there was virtually no way that he had won, guess my math skills are a little rusty, and there is NOTHING better to a 9 yr old than proving a parent wrong.

After the meet, we suited up for some family sledding, and are planning a nice quiet (other than the cheering) evening watching the superbowl. In Ian's mind, the game being in Phoenix lent itself to the possibility of going this year, as we could stay with someone for free. There is just a small matter of 4000 bucks a ticket... Not enough time to save the allowance, so in front of the TV we will be.
