When Open house is anything but Open

Ian's school held open house last night. It was promoted for the "entire" family, so we went on over with all 5 kids. It was so crowded that we could barely maneuver the halls. I always feel a little bad for him, as we have to hurry through the classroom exhibits to meet the needs of three preschoolers, and a baby who don't want to read what he wrote, see what he drew, and learn to use the computer programs.
Often we take turns going over, but he really wanted to show the girls the school, and take the whole family like the invite said. I can only imagine next year when there will be four of them to show us each carefully prepared project, introduce their teachers, and wait patiently while we do it again and again....
