Parenting myth #56 any fool can spray paint

I have been given the task of preparing 15 diaper wipes boxes for Valentine's mailboxes for the girl's preschool class. No problem I think.... I'll just buy a can of red sraypaint, and whip up the lovely covered boxes to cover in heart and ABC stickers. Spay paint is a real pain when it is 12 degrees outside, and the boxes have lots of lettering to cover. After 2 days, two trips to the hardware store in pelting snow, and 4 cans later, I have 4 that are acceptable for our project.

What have I learned?
Do these projects when it is not misrable to spend time in the garage.
Use dark primer first.
Buy way more than you ever think you'll need.
Always volunteer to to buy the snack......

I'm worse yet...I volunteer to bring cups, napkins, and plates. Requires absolutely no thought or crafting skills :)

And when I forget to buy them in advance I can make a flying trip to the store and have everything there on time :)
