Okay so it is February and the triplets have played in the snow twice. Hadley finally ventured out. Is this because we have had little snowfall? Nope, the most in a long time. Is this because they have been sick all winter? Nope, pretty much the healthiest winter for us on record. Is this because finding 8 mittens, 8 boots, 4 hats, 4 pairs of snow clothes, and dressing, providing back-up pairs, and making the hot chocolate when they come in is too much of a chore? BINGO.
It is so cute to watch them play outside, and exhausting getting them there. Hadley was our first kid to be in touch with her inner snow bunny at this age. Must be the Illionis native thing... She really seemed to enjoy being out there, only hindered by learning to walk in snowboots, and finding out that she is not allowed in the street in the winter anymore than she is in the summer....
Since our kids have little experience with snow play, they were content to play with their summer sand toys without complaint. They dug, filled buckets, threw a little, and trounced around. It did not take too long for them to cry "uncle" and come in for the aforementioned hot chocolate.
