Happy Easter

We love a holiday. As Ella proudly told her Grandma this morning, the kids got up and searched for Easter baskets while it was still dark this morning. As if it is not hard enough to get 5 kids dressed and to church on time on a regular Sunday, how about taking them to Grandma's church 2.5 hours away? We made an early morning trek to Iowa to attend church where, as the the kids refer to it, Mom and Dad were married. I dressed 4 of them in the car while it was flying down the freeway, as to let them eat pancakes before adorning their finery. After church we visited a bit with Aunt Deanna, Uncle Chuck, Aubrey, Grandpa Dickie, and Grandma Helen before heading to my Aunt Mary's for a super lunch, egg hunt, and combo birthday party for my cousin's baby Kacie. They were sweet enough to recognize Ian's birthday is in 2 short days, and gave him gifts, and a cake complete with trick candles that don't blow out. We then piled in the car for the return trip home, and off to bed from our very busy day. We all had so much fun, and it was great to spend the holiday with extended family that we never see often enough.
