On and on, it drags...

Since a week ago last Thursday we have been battling a virus that seems to never end, or maybe we just have lots of kids-- anyway, I am getting really exhausted by the constant whining, crabbing, middle of the night waking, and general malaise that has plagued the house. I am ready for healthy energetic kids, who love to play OUTSIDE!!

The good news is that it has finally broken 40 degrees on a weekday, which means the painters doing our upstairs window trim have been able to finish! This brings us one step closer to the install of our shutters which have been in and ready for over a month waiting for the painters to finish. Soon we will be able to walk around upstairs again in the nighttime without knowing that the neighbors are soaking in every little detail of our lives. Since we have never been effective at teaching modesty, I am sure that my kids have each been spotted in one stage or another of nude over the past months, and I am sure that the neighbors are probably just as anxious as we are to have the windows covered.

The bad news is that the painters being upstairs completely messes up Hadley's nap schedule. She is wandering around in a whiny stupor with leaves both of us longing for her crib. Jilly has been snoozing on the couch. I tried to send her to school, but she announced to the director of the preschool that she was "still sick, and wanted to go home with Mom and take a nap!" How can I argue with that? I dropped the other two at school, and home we came.

Kevin has been in Dallas, but returns tonight, so we will be able to resume a normal schedule by tomorrow. Well, I am off to cuddle on the couch, at least it's an excuse to let the laundry go another day.....
