I have come to a conclusion that my white (well, once was white) carpet in the formal living/dining rooms is beyond cleaning. There is no such thing as an effective spot remover, and not a powerful enough steam machine ever made to make it white again. Kids 1 Carpet 0. This is one of those things that I thought I could live with for a while when we bought the house. Turns out that just like the wallpaper that covered everything that stood vertical, the carpet must go. I wonder if concrete with a center drain is being featured on HGTV-- and if not why not???!!!
