Where to start

Yesterday was one of those run, run, run days where you feel like you got nothing done. Sorta like the dream where you go to school naked. I got Ian off to school for his first day back, and get this, like the great mom that I am, I had to give the kid ham slices for snack, as we have absolutely NOTHING for snack foods that he is allowed to take to school. (partly because the girls have been eating us right out of this house.)

Then it was off to get the girls ready for swim lessons. They started their private and semi-private sessions yesterday. On the phone they told me that the lessons were from 11-11:30 which gives me 1 hour to shower them, dress them, dry their hair, pack their wet stuff, pick up the baby from kid care, and feed them lunch. Probably could be done, if Ella and Holly's lesson wasn't actually until 11:45. I ran around like a total loon, flew through Burger King, and dropped them at school a couple minutes late. I have to work on that schedule.

After dropping them off, I went for my first humiliating weigh-in. It was ugly, but hey-- that's what this is about right, making it less ugly. I got nothing else done during the time the girls were at school-- not sure why.

After school we played outside. 63 degrees in January, it is required that we forgo anything else and play outside. The girls were awful and came home muddy, I think that it was probably too much for one day.

Ian and Kevin went to swim practice, and the triplets were in bed by 6:30, per their request. Hadley followed shortly after, and at that point all I felt like doing was loading the dishes, and laying on the couch.

So will today be more productive, less chaotic?-- with every new day there is fresh hope.
